5.5" Fossil Coral Colony (Stylina & Thecosmilia) Association - Germany
This is a natural fossil coral (Stylina limbata & Thecosmilia trichotoma) association that is Late Jurassic in age (~150 million years old) and was collected from the Nattheim Formation in Germany. Thecosmilia is an extinct genus of stony corals that lived from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous. There are a variety of shell fragments and marine organisms scattered throughout the rock, including a beautifully preserved bivalve fossil.
