5.4" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) With Cystoids & Crinoids

This is a large, 5.4" wide, fossil brittle star (Ophiura) from the Tiouririne Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.

There is a repaired crack running through the rock and the fossil. There are multiple, smaller cystoids and crinoid fossils also present on the rock.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
