4.4" Pennsylvanian Club Moss (Lepidostrobus) Spore Cone - Indiana
This is a spectacular, 4.4" fossil club moss (Lepidostrobus sp.) spore cone that's preserved within a nodule, collected from the Shelburn Formation of Indiana. Both the positive and negative half of this nodule is included, and each half is accompanied by an acrylic display stand.
Lepidodendron, also called scale trees, is a genus of extinct, primitive, vascular, tree-like plants most closely related to gill worts and and club mosses, that grew up to 98ft (30m) and had trunks a 3.2ft (1m) in diameter.
