4.2" Plate of Partial Trilobite (Kaskia) Fossils - Illinois
This is a 4.2" wide plate of partial Kaskia chesterensis trilobite fossils from the Ridenhower Formation of Illinois. These fossils are Upper Mississipian in age or approximately 325 million years old. Finding complete specimens of this species is fairly uncommon.

They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago).
