Armored Annelid Worm (Plumulites) Fossil Pos/Neg - Morocco #251931

This is an interesting fossil from the Upper Ordovician-aged (Katian Stage), Upper Tiouririne Formation of Morocco. It's a 3.3" long armored annelid worm of the genus Plumulites. The rock split perfectly across the worm, creating a gorgeous positive/negative fossil display. There are some repairs near the edge of one half of the split.

Both halves are included and each is accompanied by an acrylic display stand.

Plumulites is a rare, extinct genus of armored, segmented annelid worms (machaeridians) that existed from the Ordovician period to the Early Triassic period (480-250 MYA). They are relatives of the modern-day earthworm, leech, and bristleworm. Many well-preserved specimens have emerged on the market over the last few years.
