26" Plate Of Carboniferous Tree Ferns - France

This is a huge, plate of Carboniferous tree fern fossils from France measuring 26 x 22" and weighing around 56 lbs. It comes out of an older collection and no more specific locality was provided. I haven't been able to narrow down the location of the specific species but regardless it is a pretty spectacular piece. The fronds are very detailed and the black preservation contrasts well against the light shale.

Comes with a metal display stand.
