5.5" Fossil Fern (Sphenopteris, Lygdonium) Plate - Poland
This is two very well preserved fossil ferns from the Silesia Coal Beds, Poland. This specimen is a striking red color that is not common in coal shale fossils. The Sphenopteris frond is 2.4" and Lygdonium is .8". In addition to Sphenoptera and Lygdonium, there is a large unidentified plant fragment, likely palm frond.
