2.85" Paleocene Ginkgo Leaf with Fossil Fruit - North Dakota
This is a beautiful ginkgo leaf (Ginkgo cranei) associated with a detailed fossil infructescence (fruit aggregation) Palaeocarpinus dakotensis, a member of the witch-hazel family Hamamelidaceae, collected from the Sentinel Butte Formation of North Dakota. It is finely detailed and the light preservation contrasts well against the dark orangish-brown rock.
