2.3" Cretaceous Fossil Urchin (Phymosoma) Plate - Morocco
This is an impressive Late Cretaceous (Campanian Stage) multiple fossil urchin (Phymosoma raguini) plate from Oujda, Morocco. Most of the spines have been exposed from the sandstone around each urchin. Typically these urchins spines are composites because the spines break off from the body very quickly after they die, however this is not the case with this specimen. It's a very aesthetically pleasing and impressive fossil.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
