2.3" Carboniferous Fish (Gyrolepidotus) - Siberia
This is an Early Carboniferous, Palaeoniscid (Gyrolepidotus schmidti) fish fossil from Medvedsk, Siberia. It has quite a bit of detail and measures 2" long. The paleoniscoids were the first ray-fined fish appearing during the Carboniferous and Permian periods.
