11.2" Ordovician Brittle Star and Crinoid Plate - Morocco
This is a 11.2" wide plate containing four fossil brittle stars and crinoid stems, with one complete crinoid which includes its calyx. It comes from the Upper Ordovician-aged Kataoua Formation of Morocco. The orange coloration is due to to the oxidization of iron pyrite. There appears to be an iron nodule of some sort at the center of the plate.
