1.3" Ordovician Starfish Fossil With An Edrioasteroid - Morocco
This is a 1.3" wide, Ordovician-aged starfish (Petraster?) from the Tiouririne Formation near Kaid rami, Morocco. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidation of iron.
There is an Edrioasteroid likely of the genus Spinadiscus present, preserved atop one of the arms of the starfish. A repaired crack can be seen running through the rock/fossil.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
