1.3" Fossil Fern (Lygdonium) - Carboniferous
This is a 1.3" fossil fern (Lygdonium) from the Silesia Coal Beds, Poland. This specimen is a nodule containing a fragment of a leaf. This variety of fern has a palmate (with fingers) leaf and this example is one finger. This is a nicely detailed example.
