1.27" Cyphaspis - Devil Horn Trilobite

Here is nice example of the Devonian trilobite Cyphaspis walteri. sometimes referred to as the "Devil Horn" Cyphaspis for obvious reasons. This specimen was collected near Ofaten, Morocco and meticulously prepared from it's limestone tomb using airscribes and air abrasives. This is a time consuming process that takes many hours for a trilobite such as this. The left "horn" on the trilobite has been restored and there is some restoration in the center of the trilobite on the thorax.

This species was finally formally described in 2014. A link to the paper can be found below.
