1" Fossil Erinaceid Mammal (Galerix) Jaw - France
This is a nicely preserved jaw (mandible) from a fossilized erinaceid mammal (Galerix socialis). Galerix is an extinct genus of small insectivores that lived during the Miocene Epoch. It came out of the geomorphological karstic site, La Grive-Saint-Alban in France. This site has helped provide an understanding of the diverse European mammalian fauna of the Miocene Epoch.
The specimen is in great condition with no repair, most of the jaw present, and two teeth still within the jaw. Comes with a display display case.
