Honey opal is the name given to a translucent to transparent, honey-gold to light brown color of common opal. While not as sought after as black, fire, or other precious opals, it is still a beautiful choice for collectors and jewelers. Honey opal gets its coloration from iron impurities, and the mineraloid can sometimes contain black dendrites suspended within.
