7.9" Gemmy, Mint-Green, Stepped Halite Crystals - Rudna Mine, Poland
This is a gorgeous, translucent green formation of gemmy cubic halite crystals from the Rudna Copper Mine in Lubin, Poland. The green thread-like inclusions are believed to be atacamite crystals, however we cannot verify this. It sits nicely on a flat surface without the need for a display stand.
Halite, more commonly known as rock salt, is a form of the mineral sodium chloride (NaCl). It forms when salt-rich waters evaporate and can be colored by mineral impurities.
