7.4" Polished Binthalya Opal Slab - Western Australia
This is a cut/polished slab of Binthalya Opal, an opalised Radiolarite (fine grained, siliceous ocean sediment). This form of common opal comes from an area in the Kennedy Ranges, located about 100 miles inland from the coastal town of Camarvon, Western Australia. It features alternating bands of pastel yellow, orange and purple coloration.
