5.4" Thomsonite (Zeolite) On Heulandite - Maharashtra, India
This is a stunning, 5.4" wide, high quality specimen of the zeolite thomsonite, collected from the Deccan Traps (the world largest basalt flow) in Maharashtra, India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks in the area. The fuzzy balls of thomsonite have peach coloration and the largest measures 1.4" across.
Small, gemmy heulandite crystals can be found protruding from the red-brown matrix, surrounding the thomsonite "blobs" that seemingly ooze across the specimen.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
