4.2" Pyrope, Forsterite, Diopside & Omphacite Slice - Norway
This is a gorgeou, 4.2" wide, slice of pyrope garnets, forsterite, diopside and omphacite that was collected from Gusdal, Norway (likely from the Gusdal Olivine Pit). The pyrope garnets are red-magenta in color and are peppered throughout a green matrix that's composed of forsterite, diopside and omphacite. This mineral association is also known as pyrope-olivine-websterite. This specimen has been left in its rough form and comes with an acrylic display case.
