3.2" Gemmy, Mint-Green Halite Crystal Cluster - Rudna Mine, Poland
This is a stunning, translucent green formation of gemmy cubic halite stalactite crystals from the Rudna Copper Mine in Lubin, Poland. The green thread-like inclusions are believed to be atacamite crystals, however we cannot verify this. Very nice, well formed crystals and the piece displays well.
Halite, more commonly known as rock salt, is a form of the mineral sodium chloride (NaCl). It forms when salt-rich waters evaporate and can be colored by mineral impurities.
