2.9" Brucite (New Find) - Pakistan

This is a magnificent translucent specimen of yellow brucite that measures 2.9" long, and includes an associations of matrix located along what could be considered the bottom of the specimen. The rich neon yellow color displayed by this crystal aggregation is an exceptional example of the quality of color that these crystals can present.

Brucite, a mineral composed of Mg(OH)2, comes in all ranges of colors depending on locality. Typically it forms in subparallel aggregates of plates as well as tabular crystals, each of which can be fibrous to elastic in rigidity.
