2.85" Polished Cotton Candy Agate Sphere - Mexico
This is a 2.85" wide, dreamy, pink/red/white polished sphere of cotton candy agate from Mexico. A quartz crystal encrusted pocket can be found along one side of the sphere. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
Cotton Candy agate is a recently discovered material collected from Mexico. It is named for its confectionary appearance, with multiple shades of pink brecciated jasper surrounded by fluffy bands of whitish agate and druzy quartz. Its popularity is also rising thanks to its aptitude for lapidary work: shaping and polishing brings out tons of character and detail in this already stunning agate.
It bears a striking resemblance to Youngite, but there are a few key differences: Youngite tends to fluoresce greenish, while cotton candy agate does not. Youngite is only found in Wyoming, whereas this material is found in Mexico.
