2.8" Deep-Green Libethenite Crystal Cluster - Congo-Brazzaville

This 2.8" wide specimen features a crystal aggregation of the rare mineral, libethenite. The crystals have deep-green coloration and bear a pseudo-octahedral structure. It comes from Gautala within the Pool Department, Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville).

Libethenite is a secondary copper phosphate mineral with the chemical formula Cu2PO4OH. The crystals are typically dark green and orthorhombic in shape and form within the oxidation zones of copper ore deposits.
