2.7" Thomsonite (Zeolite) on Heulandite - Maharashtra, India
This is a beautiful, 2.7" wide specimen containing the zeolite thomsonite from the Maharashtra province of India. Thomsonite is one of the rarest zeolites found in the volcanic rocks in the area. The fuzzy ball of thomsonite has a brown-peach coloration and measures .9" across.
Small orange heulandite and stibnite crystals can be found encrusting the surface of the matrix, surrounding the thomsonite "blob" that seem to ooze across the specimen.
