2.7" Purple Amethyst Pseudomorph After Barite - Turkey

This is a beautiful 2.7" wide cluster of purple amethyst crystals with a light dusting of hematite, collected from Turkey. The amethyst has formed as a pseudomorph after barite, which gives the specimen its bumpy appearance. It contains many grape juice colored crystals with remarkable luster.

The specimen comes with an acrylic display stand for preferred presentation.

Turkish amethyst mines produce some of the world's most spectacular deep purple amethysts. The amethyst from these localities typically forms as a pseudomorph after barite, usually leaving some specimens with a wave-like or hill-and-valley appearance.
