This is a beautiful, 2.7" tall "egg" formed from polished elephant skin jasper from India. The polishing is wonderful, with no notable dull spots or scuff marks. An absolutely gorgeous piece. Comes with pictured display stand.

Elephant skin jasper, also known as "Arabic Script Jasper" or " Mariam Jasper", is believed to be a fossiliferous jasper. The dark brown mineralization is likely mud, surrounding various sea grass fossils.
