This is a fun, 2.6" long polished bear sculpted from "Arizona rainbow onyx". The stone has been meticulously shaped and polished to create this unique piece. The beautiful red, orange, and white banding of this specimen are truly eye-catching. A small fish of the same material can be seen in its mouth, as though it were just freshly snatched up from a stream.

Despite its name, Arizona rainbow onyx is not a true onyx, but a colorful variety of banded calcite. Its unique hues of desert blush, ridges of amber, and veins of jade green make it one of the United State's most popular stones for interior stonework, decorative carvings, and lapidary work.
