2.1" Lustrous Neptunite Crystals in Natrolite Matrix - California

This 2.1" wide specimen features lustrous, black (deep-red) neptunite crystals in a natrolite-rich matrix, collected from the Benitoite Gem Mine in San Benito County, California. A tiny benitoite crystal can be seen near one edge of the specimen, along with some micro orange joaquinite crystals near this same edge. Neptunite crystals often form in association with benitoite, a rare blue barium titanium cyclosilicate mineral that's found in only a handful of locations. San Benito County is known for producing the highest quality of benitoite crystals.
