2.4" Pink Halite Crystal Plate - Trona, California
This is an exceptionally nice 2.4"x1.5" plate of attractive pink Halite crystals collected from Trona, California. The crystal formations have a geometrically astatic appeal that can only be truly appreciated in person. The white/clear cubes formations really make this piece that much nicer then most.
Halite, more commonly known as rock salt, is a form of the mineral sodium chloride. It forms when salt-rich waters evaporate, and can be colored by residual mineral impurities. Trona, California is famous for producing beautiful halite crystals in the brines of Lake Owen.
