2.35" Yellow-Green, Pyromorphite Crystal Cluster - China
This is a cluster of yellowish green pyromorphite crystals from the Daoping Mine in the Guangxi Zhaung Autonomous Region of China. The cluster is 2.35" long and the largest crystals are about 0.32" long. The lustrous crystals form sprays of hexagonal crystals with yellow-orange terminations, which contrast well against the brown/orange matrix.
Pyromorphite is a mineral species composed of lead chloro-phosphate: Pb5(PO4)3Cl, sometimes occurring in sufficient abundance to be mined as an ore of lead. It forms small, hexagonal crystals ranging from dark green to yellow, to orange.
