2.3" Lustrous Danburite Crystal With Pyrite - San Luis Potosi, Mexico
This is a 2.3" long danburite crystal that was collected from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. It bears beautifully formed crystal faces that exhibit a wonderful luster, and pyrite crystals towards the base of the crystal.
Danburite is a calcium boron silicate mineral that is often found as transparent, colorless crystals. Depending on impurities present, it can also bear tan, grey, white, yellow, brown, orange, and pink coloration, and in some cases can be found encrusted in a layer of druzy quartz. Danburite earned its name from the town it was first described in: Danbury, Connecticut.
