2" Rare, Lemon-Yellow Brucite - Balochistan, Pakistan

This beautiful translucent specimen of white and yellow brucite measures 2" long, and includes associations of matrix located randomly throughout the specimen. The rich neon yellow color displayed by this crystal aggregation is a perfect example of the quality of color that these crystals can present.

Brucite, a mineral composed of Mg(OH)2, comes in all ranges of colors depending on locality. Typically it forms in subparallel aggregates of plates as well as tabular crystals, each of which can be fibrous to elastic in rigidity.
