1.9" Polished Sodalite Sphere - Brazil

This is a nearly 1.9" specimen of sodalite, collected from a location that's west of the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. This blue gemstone is almost invariably veined with white streaks or markings. Lapis Lazuli can appear similar to Sodalite with its intensely blue color, though it is usually associated with sparkling Pyrite, which Sodalite lacks.
