1.4" Double-Terminated Rutilated Quartz Crystal - Brazil
This is a beautiful rutilated quartz crystal that was collected from Brazil. It measures 1.4" long and sprays of golden rutile throughout the crystal and the quartz is double-terminated. This specimen has been mounted to an acrylic display base with mineral tack.
Rutilated quartz is a form of quartz characterized by needle-like inclusions of rutile within the quartz crystal. These inclusions mostly look golden, but they also can look silver, copper red, or deep black.
Rutile is a titanium dioxide mineral, and sometimes contains large quantities of iron oxide.
