1.35" Vibrant Orange Tinzenite Specmien - Switzerland

This is a 1.35" wide formation of massive tizenite that bears beautiful orange coloration. This material comes out of Parsettens Alp in Grisons, Switzerland.

The specimen is accompanied by a small acrylic display case.

Tinzenite is a borosilicate that is part of the axinite group of minerals. It is often a vibrant orange, though can vary from red to yellow. It is found in only a few locations around the world, most notably in the Swiss and Italian Alps. It is named after its type locality: the town of Tinzen, near the mountain Alpe Parsettens in eastern Switzerland.
