About Vittinkiite

Vittinkiite is an isostructural analogue of rhodonite. It's named after the type locality Vittinki (Vittinge) mines, Isokyrö, Western and Inner Finland Region, Finland. Besides Vittinki, vitiinkiite was found in more than a dozen rhodonite deposits worldwide, however, it is significantly less common in comparison with rhodonite. The mineral typically forms pink to light pink massive, granular aggregates and is associated with quartz, rhodonite, tephroite, pyroxmangite, spessartine, and Mn oxides.

General Chemical Formula - MnMn4[Si5O15]

Spessartine, often mistakenly referred to as spessartite, is a nesosilicate manganese aluminium garnet species with the chemical formula Mn2+3Al2(SiO4)3. The name is a derivative of Spessart in Bavaria, Germany, the mineral's type locality.
