MIMETITE SPECIMENS
Mimetite is a scarce and striking lead arsenate chloride mineral, typically found in vibrant yellow, orange, or brown hues, with hexagonal, prismatic crystals that sometimes form rounded or botryoidal clusters. It occurs in the oxidized zones of lead ore deposits, often alongside minerals like galena and wulfenite. Mimetite is part of the apatite group and is closely related to minerals such as pyromorphite and vanadinite, sometimes forming in combination with them. Its vibrant color and eye-catching crystal shapes make it highly desirable for collectors, though it is not used in jewelry or decoration due to its lead and arsenic content.
