Very 3D Halysiocrinus Crinoid With Long Stem

This is an killer specimen of the crinoid Halysiocrinus tunicatus from the famous Crawfordsville crinoid locality which has been collected by Tom Witherspoon for many years. This great specimen of Halysiocrinus has a 1.9" crown attached to over 4 inches of stem. Both the preparation and preservation is fantastic.

The Mississippian aged Edwardsville Formation exposed in Montgomery County, Indiana is world renown for it's amazing crinoids. There are over 60 known species from the formation and when properly prepared they are preserved in beautiful, 3D relief.
