5.9" Wide Black Nautilus Fossil - Belmont, France

This is a large, heavy, black nautilus fossil from Belmont, France. It is 5.9 inches is completely removed from the surrounding matrix. It's Lower Jurassic (Toarcian Stage) and nautilus fossils from France quite hard to acquire compared to the commonly available ammonites from Madagascar and Morocco. It's missing some shell on one side, but it displays very well, free-standing on it's own.
