Two Spiny Selenopeltis Trilobites - Erfoud, Morocco
This is a pair of large spiny odontopleurid trilobite (Selenopeltis buchi) fossils. These trilobites are quarried east of Erfoud, Morocco from the Upper Tiouririne Formation. Including spines, these trilobites measure 5.55" and 5.15" long.
The largest (left) trilobite has some minor restoration along repaired cracks. The most significant restoration can be found on the smaller (right) trilobite. This restoration includes much of the left half of the segments, spines, and pygidium, making up approximately 25% of the trilobite.
Comes with a display stand.

About Trilobites
Trilobites are an extinct class of marine arthropods that thrived for nearly 270 million years, from the early Cambrian to the end of the Permian period (around 521 to 252 million years ago). They are one of the most successful and diverse groups in the history of life, with over 25,000 described species spanning a wide range of sizes, shapes, and ecological niches. Known for their distinctive, segmented exoskeletons, trilobites provide invaluable insights into the evolutionary history of arthropods and the dynamics of ancient marine ecosystems.
