Ceratarges, Morocops & Gerastos Trilobite Plate
This is a composite piece, meaning that all of the trilobite fossils are real, but they were not found in natural association. They were composited onto a single piece of limestone for display purposes. There is a 1.75" Ceratarges koumalii which is the one trilobite in it's original position. It's very nice specimen of the species with great preparation. There is a 1.6" Ceratarges koumalii which has a little bit of disarticulation but otherwise is in good shape. There is also a .9" Gerastos and a 2.1" Morocops (formerly Barrandeops). Even though it's a composite, it's a great display piece, with fantastic examples of four different trilobite species.
There are currently about 5 different species of Certarges described from Morocco each a slight variation on the others. A paper describing some of these species can be found at:
