Two Fossil Gall Midges (Cecidomyiidae) in Dominican Amber

These are two fossil gall midges (order Diptera - family Cecidomyiidae) preserved in Dominican amber. The largest midge measures about 2.2mm across (including appendages) in a 17 x 14 x 7mm piece of amber.

As a reminder, most inclusions in amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen.
