Three Pyritized Kosmoceras Ammonites - Work of Art

This is a beautiful display piece featuring three pyrite replaced Kosmoceras ammonite fossils. The ammonite specimens have been cut in half revealing the beautiful inner chamber detail, preserved with pyrite crystals. These fossil ammonite halves have then been mounted in a polished limestone matrix to create a very aesthetic display. Smaller ammonites have been mounted in the center of two of the specimens, capping off this fossilized art. The matrix displays well on the included acrylic display stand and measures approximately 8x7" Photos don't do it justice.
