Three Caudal Dinosaur (Stegosaurus?) Vertebae Centrums - Colorado

This is a trio of associated dinosaur caudal (tail) vertebrae that have been been prepared from the hard sandstone they were found in. They were found this past summer at our partner's private quarry, East of Dinosaur, Colorado. The largest of three centrums is 4.2" tall and the entire piece measures 9" long.

Given there are no processes attached we aren't completely positive of the identification. Most of the material in the quarry is sauropod, but there is also Stegosaurus material present and the centrums look much more like those of a Stegosaurus than a juvenile sauropod.

Stegosaurus is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs in the world due to its distinctive tail spikes and plates along its back. So far, 3 species have been described from the Upper Morrison Formation, and it has been in the news quite a bit lately due to "Sophie" the Stegosaurus at the London Natural History Museum. Stegosaurus is the state fossil of Colorado.
