Superbly Prepared Mrakibina Trilobite - Flying Pose

This is an extremely well prepared specimen of the trilobite Mrakibina cattoi . It was quarried in Mrakib, Morocco, which is how the genus derived it's name. This specimen is above average size at 1.45" long and has been prepared so that it "flys" above the matrix. This style of preparation adds more than a dozen hours of work to the preparation time the matrix must be removed from underneath the spines and head of the trilobite.

There is only very minor restoration on this specimen to touchup some areas around a repaired crack, maybe about 3%
