Spectacular "Flying" Crotalocephalina Trilobite

Here is a very nice Crotalocephalina gibbus trilobite which has been expertly prepared so that it appears to be flying on top of a pedestal of rock. This type of preparation requires many hours of highly skilled labor under microscope. The preservation and detail on this trilobite is simply amazing. The hypostome or mouth has even been prepared so that it is visible on the underside of the trilobite.

The species is often incorrectly referred to as Crotalocephalus gibbus.
