Spectacular Fish & Shrimp Association - 12x7.5"
This is very displayable association from the famous, Upper Cretaceous, marine deposits near Hgula, Lebanon. On the 12x7.5" plate there are three fossil fish of the species Nematonotus bottae along with 8 fossil shrimp of the genus Carpopenaeus. The detail on all of the specimens is very nice and the coloration from this location is gorgeous. It displays well on the included acrylic stand or it could be mounted on a wall.
There are some repaired cracks in the matrix and minor restoration where the cracks run through the fish but it has not been color enhanced like lower quality material. We purchase our Lebonese material directly from one of the families that have worked the quarries for generations to get the highest quality specimens and great prices.
I've including some photos of the quarry in the photo set.
