Sharp 3.35" Auriculatus Shark Tooth - Dakhla, Morocco

This is a sharply serrated tooth of the mega-toothed shark, Carcharocles auriculatus. It is believed Carcharocles auriculatus was closely related to the Megalodon but lived nearly 10-20 million years earlier.

This tooth was collected from the Late Eocene aged deposits of the Western Sahara Desert in Morocco. It's 3.35" long and has sharp serrations/tip as intact cusps. Unlike the majority of these teeth which are found fractured, this one has no repair or restoration.
