Rare Fossil Phantom Midges with a Caddisfly & Moth Fly In Baltic Amber
This is a detailed cluster of rare, 44 million year old fossil phantom midges (family Chaoboridae) preserved alongside a caddisfly (order Trichoptera) and a moth fly (order Diptera - family Psychodidae) within Baltic amber. The phantom midges range from 2.4mm to 4mm long in a 20 x 17 x 5 piece of amber.
As a reminder, most inclusions in Baltic amber are extremely small so magnification will be needed to make out much detail. Included with your order is a physical photo of the specimen, and we will also email you a high resolution digital copy.
